Los hijos

2018 - 2019

Co-production with Producciones Teatrales Contemporáneas (PTC).

Los hijos (The Children), written by Lucy Kirkwood, takes place in the near future, and deals with the consequences of a nuclear power plant catastrophe, delving into our responsibilities towards future generations.

The play is set in a small cottage on the East Coast where retired nuclear scientists, Hazel and Robin, have been living since the disaster at the local nuclear power plant where they worked. In spite of the fact that electricity is rationed and they use a Geiger counter to measure any signs of radiation, they try to maintain a semblance of normalcy. These days, Robin farms while Hazel does yoga. And they stay in touch with their eldest daughter, Lauren. But when Rose, a fellow nuclear physicist they haven’t seen in 38 years, suddenly shows up, their seemingly orderly lives are disrupted, and they are forced to reflect on the impact of their lives on the generations to come.
